The 6ft 4ins towering defender came through the youth ranks at Ligue 2 outfit Sochaux, and represents France at Under-21 level. According to Le 10 Sport, United have reached out to Konate’s agent to ascertain whether he would be interested in a move to Old Trafford. The Red Devils are also reportedly interested in Konate’s centre-back partner at Leipzig, Dayot Upamecano. But the French defender, who has a £53million release clause, is set to snub interest from United, Arsenal and Bayern Munich and sign a new deal at his current club.
