Manchester City women were left with their heads in their hands after one of the players scored the most calamitous of own goals on Sunday. Eight minutes into the Women's Super League clash with Birmingham, Abbie McManus' opted to attempt a backpass from the opposition's half. The defender soon regretted it as she watched the ball bounce over the head of goalkeeper Ellie Roebuck before trickling into the net. Things then got worse for City as Meaghan Sargeant doubled the lead after half-time. However, Nick Cushing's women showed great spirit to fight back, goals from Caroline Weir, Nikita Parris and Tessa Wullaert completing a remarkable turnaround.
