Watford certainly didn’t look overawed by the occasion and 20 minutes in they had a legitimate penalty appeal waved away. Sadly for Jesus, Sterling stole his spotlight, pinching his goal right on the line. 4 – Raheem Sterling is the fourth player to score a hat-trick in an FA Cup final, after William Townley for Blackburn in 1890, Jimmy Logan for Notts County in 1894 and Stan Mortensen for Blackpool in 1953. That scoreline meant that City matched the all-time biggest FA Cup final result set by Bury against Derby County in 1903 and they almost broke it in injury time when John Stones saw a goal-bound effort diverted over by Gomes.
