The news comes as bomber Salman Abedi's brother Hashem Abedi, pleaded not guilty to 22 murder counts at the Old Bailey today. The public inquiry will be chaired by Sir John Saunders, a retired High Court judge who was nominated by the Lord Chief Justice to lead the investigation. It will have the same scope as the current inquest into the horrific attack at Manchester Arena on Monday, May 22, 2017. His younger brother, Hashem, today formally entered not guilty pleas to multiple charges of murder. He also faces a single count of attempted murder for all the other victims and conspiring with his brother to cause explosions.
