Between its debt obligations, military expenditures, and administrative costs, Pakistan’s economic choices remain limited no matter who is in power. This significant refugee outflow is a humanitarian crisis, and it is further straining Pakistan’s ties with the Taliban regime in Afghanistan. More diversified foreign investments in Pakistan in turn will also enable Pakistan to avoid a Chinese debt-trap.
