The friend administered CPR as emergency services headed to the worksite, about 20km north of Dunedin, but Sloper died at the scene. "Nothing would bring Michael back from the dead, but Simon was still here," Collins’ mother Fiona told the programme. Simon Sloper told the BBC it was the forgiveness of Collins' mother and the support of his family that helped him in prison.
