Man wanted in China nabbed in Makati

MANILA, Philippines — A Chinese fugitive involved in economic crimes in China was arrested in Makati City, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) reported Monday. The bureau said 32-year-old Chen Long, who lives under the alias Chen Chenglong, was arrested last October 30 following a report from Chinese authorities. ADVERTISEMENTChen, along with a cohort, duped more than P400 million from his victims after setting up an unregistered investment company in Shandong province in China. Further, Chen’s passport has also been cancelled by Chinese authorities, making him an undocumented alien in the Philippines. “The FSU has been doing a good job in ensuring that we rid of fugitives hiding in the Philippines,” BI Commissioner Jaime Morente said.
