Man waiting for NYC subway stabbed in the neck, back before being pushed onto the tracks

A man was stabbed and pushed onto the train tracks during a fight with another man in the tourist-heavy Times Square subway station on Wednesday as New York City continues to see an ongoing surge in violent subway assaults. The two men got into a fight on the platform while waiting for the N train before both went hurtling to the tracks at around 11:40 am, police said. One of the men pulled a knife and stabbed the 52-year-old victim in the neck and back, before the two fell, according to authorities. The stab victim was rescued from the tracks and transported to Bellevue Hospital in serious but stable condition. Just days beforehand on November 14, Carlos Ortiz, 32, was arrested for snatching the purse of a 36-year-old woman at the 42nd Street station and pushing her onto the subway tracks.
