Search teams planning to look for man missing in Hutt river after night swim TALIA SHADWELLCAMERON BURNELL/FAIRFAX NZ The flooded Hutt River on Friday morning, when police are resuming the search for a missing swimmer. A young man is missing after he and a mate went for a night swim in the Hutt River, north of Wellington. The river was swollen from recent rain, and the rescue helicopter was unable to join the search because of the night's blustery conditions. Police resumed their search at the river mouth and harbour at about 9.30am on Friday morning. "LandSAR teams have just begun searching in the area where the man went missing and the Maritime Police are searching the harbour and river mouth area."
