A Central Otago man craving chocolate was so angry a vending machine failed to produce the goods, he turned to his Black and Decker grinder and cut the machine open so he could reach his sweet treat. Prosecutor Tim Hambleton said Eade put his money into a vending machine at his workplace and pushed the buttons, but the machine failed to deliver his chocolate bar. Eade then used his grinder out and cut the glass off the vending machine so he could get the chocolate bar out, Mr Hambleton said. Alexandra shearer Andrew James Eade, 29, appeared in the Alexandra District Court yesterday and admitted a charge of intentionally damaging the vending machine in Alexandra on July 5. "Because he can't get a chocolate bar, he throws his toys out of the cot, gets a grinder and destroys the machine."
