Man to serve six months in jail for beating up mother-in-law in Kakamega

| Updated Mon, July 10th 2017 at 16:58 GMT +3A man will serve six months in jail if he does not pay a fine of Sh20,000 for beating up his mother-in-law. "When I confronted him over the matter, he slapped me in the face and beat me with a cane," Ms Egesa told the court. Mr Lukhafwa, who denied committing the offence, asked for leniency, saying his two wives had died leaving him with the burden of raising their seven children alone. But the magistrate ruled that the prosecution had proven its case beyond any reasonable doubt. [Jack Murima]ALSO READ: Schools: Perfect start for Kakamega
