In a freak accident, a man in the United States swallowed one of his Apple AirPods in his sleep which got stuck in his oesophagus. On February 2, Brad Gauthier, a resident of Worchester in Massachusetts experienced trouble while swallowing water. Brad soon realized that he was missing one of his AirPods to which his family joked that maybe he had swallowed the AirPod in his sleep. Brad visited the hospital where doctors did an X-ray only to find the missing AirPod lodged in the lower part of his oesophagus. Fox 8 reported that Gauthier went home to catch up on his work, having never experienced more than some minor discomfort.
