A man has been shot dead in front of the National Medical College gate near Dhaka’s Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court. The murder occurred around 11am on Monday, according to Mollik Ahsan Swami, deputy police commissioner for the Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Lalbagh Division. He was taken to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital emergency department, where the doctor-on-duty declared him dead, according to Faruk Hossain, officer in charge of the hospital’s police outpost. I do not know who killed him or why.”CCTV footage from the scene shows an individual being chased by two men wearing masks and caps to cover their faces suddenly running towards the National Medical College gate and entering. The men giving chase then shot him with pistols and fled the scene.
