A group of miscreants carried out the attack in the Gorur Hat area of the village around 8pm, said Fultala police station Officer in charge (OC). The deceased, Mollah Hemayet Hossain Lipu, 45, said Lipu was a member of the outlawed party “Biplobi Communist Party”. At that time, a group of miscreants riding on 2 motorcycles shot him and immediately fled the scene. Later, locals rescued Lipu in critical condition and took him to Fultala Upazila Health Complex where the duty doctor declared him dead.
