John David Bound, 59, shot and killed his 80-year-old mum Gwendoline Christine Bound in a "deliberate and unlawful assault", an inquest has heard. Speaking on Friday, the acting senior coroner for Carmarthenshire, Paul Bennett, said something would have “triggered” Mr Bound to shoot his mother and then himself. He said: “John Bound had spoken to family members about his concerns over the impending lockdown situation due to Covid restrictions. “There must have been something to have triggered John to decide to fetch his shotgun before his mother was fatally wounded. Returning a verdict of unlawful killing and suicide, the coroner said that Mr Bound was a “dedicated farmer who loved life”, and someone who thought the world of his mother.
