A man has been shot dead at the Chebowon tea estate in Kericho for allegedly stealing tea leaves. The Kericho County Commander Geoffrey Mayek confirmed the incident. Kericho residents took to the streets and blocked roads protesting against the alleged shooting of the man. The region has been facing wrangles pitting tea farms and residents. At the centre of the wrangles is the mechanisation of tea leaves harvesting that is said to have rendered several people jobless.
