A man in his 40s is in hospital in serious condition following a stabbing in Scarborough early Tuesday. Toronto police said they were called in the area Markham Rd. and Cougar Crt., north of Eglinton Ave. E. around 12:30 a.m. Toronto police spokesperson Gary Long said police were initially called for a shooting. When police arrived, they found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds in a nearby plaza. Paramedics rushed the victim to hospital via emergency run.
