Police arrested an young man, Akram, in the incident. The girl went to her grandfather's house in Shalmara village in the upazila to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with her relatives. She was playing with other kids in Jankikhila Hafezia Madrasa field when Akram lured her to a nearby house and raped her. The girl was first taken to Sreebardi Upazila Health Complex and later moved to Sadar Hospital, said Sreebardi police station OC Ruhul Amin Talukder.
