A local court handed over on Monday the accused to the police for a 14-day judicial remand for allegedly deceiving several women into fraudulent marriages. According to the petitioner, the accused, Nasir, married her through a false nikkahnama in 2014 and later fled after collecting Rs800,000. She claimed that Nasir led a group involved in contracting false marriages and ruining the lives of many women. He further informed the court that two affected women had reached out to the police after the case was registered against Nasir. The court handed over the accused to the police for a 14-day judicial remand, directing the police to submit the case challan at the next hearing.
