Man pulled dead from harbour identified as Leslie GelbergerGIVEALITTLE The swimmer found nead off Auckland's North Shore on Friday was teacher Leslie Gelberger, pictured here with his wife Laura McLeod and their two children. The boats are used to transport marine pilots and the one under investigation is not pictured. It was believed he was killed by a Ports of Auckland Pilot boat while out swimming. A pilot boat is a roughly 15-metre-long boat used to transport marine pilots to incoming ships and pick up marine pilots from outgoing ships. A marine pilot's job is to guide a ship safely into port.
