David Gesicho argued that restricting the mass listing to only 30 days would lock out many Kenyans who had attained voting age. "Not all people can quickly get their identity cards from the National Registration Bureau within a short time. Mr Gesicho said the IEBC target of registering up to six million new voters can only be realised if registration takes at least 12 weeks. The commission said last year that it would require an additional Sh1.5 billion to extend the registration by two months.
