The accused, Parvez, initially attacked the two daughters of the family, aged 16 and 11, with a chopper. While the girls were already in agony from the wounds, he raped them before killing them by slitting their throats, Parvez told police. He then hacked Fadil, Nura, and Haurin, when they woke up from sleep hearing the noise. Parvez is also an accused in a case filed for murdering a seven-year-old girl, Nilima, on February 22 of 2018.
