(CNN) Authorities in Micronesia are searching for a man who went missing after a Boeing 737 overshot the runway, plunging into a sea lagoon on Friday, according to Air Niugini, the Papua New Guinea airline who operated the flight. The passenger was seen in one of the local dinghies that were assisting with transporting the passengers and crew to the shore, the airline said in a statement. However, he then disappeared and local authorities and the airline are searching for him. "The divers have confirmed that all the passengers had safely evacuated the aircraft," the statement added. The airline did not give the nationality of the missing person but said it was in contact with the family.
