Man lost RM16,000, dreads his wife's anger, lodges false police report


PETALING JAYA: A man lost RM16,000 and in fear of his wife, he decided to lodge a police report, fabricating a false tale of robbery. His attempt was irresponsible and for that, he was sentenced to a month in jail and fined RM1,500, in default six months jail term for the offence. According to the fact of the case, Faisal had lodging a false report on being robbed by two armed men in Damansara Perdana at 11pm on Dec 11, 2016. The court was told that after investigations, Faisal admitted to police he lodged the false report because he had misplaced RM16,000 cash while intoxicated and was afraid that it would anger his wife. However, Faisal who was unrepresented asked for a lenient sentence as he was the sole breadwinner for his family.
