Man loses parking dispute after stopping campervan in town square


Greymouth's Tainui Street has a town square with food trucks but while it is open to traffic it is a no stopping zone. A man who stopped his campervan for "less than a minute" in the Greymouth town square has been fined. In her reserved decision, community magistrate Sally O'Brien found McKelvie had breached the "no stopping" signs and fined McKelvie $40. Joanne Carroll/Stuff Greymouth's Tainui Street and town square is a shared space for cars and pedestrians. The warden said she saw McKelvie's campervan in the town square near a food truck on May 3.
