A man has been sentenced to three weeks of imprisonment by the Kwun Tong Magistrates' Courts after he pleaded guilty to a count of attempt to contravene the specified term of quarantine today. Leung Chi Kwong, 63, returned to Hong Kong from the mainland on June 3 and was ordered to quarantine for 14 days. But he attempted to go back to the mainland just two and a half hours after he arrived. During mitigation, Leung said he felt unwell and attempted to leave Hong Kong and hoped the magistrate would give him a chance. Magistrate Andrew Mok Tze-chung said the case was serious, and the defendant was being selfish and should not have attempted to leave Hong Kong.
