KOTA TINGGI: An Indian national was sentenced to a year’s jail for possessing about 100 pictures and videos of child pornography on his mobile phone. The father of two was charged with possessing images related to child pornography on his mobile phone on Jan 3. The charge carries a maximum sentence of three years’ jail or fine or both. In mitigation, Sulaiman asked the court for a fine and claimed that the images were sent to him via WhatsApp. Magistrate Mazana Sinin sentenced the man to 12 months in jail from the date of remand.
