A man is in hospital in a serious condition after a hit-and-run in Timaru at 4.40am today. Detective Senior Sergeant Richard Quested said the victim is in a serious but stable condition. Timaru Police are investigating the incident after a grey vehicle, that is likely to have frontal damage from the collision, fled the scene on Old North Rd. Old North Rd remains closed between Grants Rd and Andrew St as police conduct a scene examination. Anyone with information is asked to contact Sergeant Kevin McErlain on 021 1912 286 and information can be anonymously passed on to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
