Man in his 70s fights for his life after vehicle hits Etobicoke bus shelter


A man in his 70s suffered life-threatening injuries Tuesday when he was struck by a car while in an Etobicoke bus shelter, police say. Toronto police responded to a report of a vehicle hitting the shelter at Martin Grove Road and Eglinton Avenue West just before 3 p.m. Paramedics told the Star the man was taken to hospital via emergency run with life-threatening injuries. Police said a vehicle was travelling southbound on Martin Grove Road approaching Eglinton Avenue West when the driver attempted to make a turn at the intersection and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene, but officers found it abandoned half an hour later at a short distance near the intersection. Police are urging public for their assistance and to contact police if they have dash-cam footage.
