A tea shop owner on Friday committed suicide in Khanjapur union of Gournadi upazila, allegedly after failing to keep up with his debts. The deceased, Khokon Bepari, hanged himself inside his shop on Friday around 10pm. “Khokon borrowed Tk5-6 lakh from several NGOs and loan sharks and was being pressured by NGO officials and loan sharks to settle his debts,” Rokon said. “Unable to deal with this pressure he committed suicide,” he added.
