A man is in custody after trying to evade arrest and barricading himself in an Aurora residence early Friday morning, York Regional Police said. There was a large police presence at the house located in the area of Henderson and Child Drive; neighbourhood residents were warned to expect a “significant police presence” in the area until the situation was resolved. York police first tweeted that there was an “armed and barricaded person” at 3:54 a.m. In a subsequent tweet, they said he is “wanted and refusing to surrender.”The man was safely taken into custody just before 8:30 a.m., police said.
