A man hid $10 million worth of ephedrine inside plastic kangaroos in order to smuggle it into the country, the Crown says. Customs and police launched a joint investigation in October last year after Customs officers discovered tiny portions of ephedrine hidden inside some of the plastic kangaroos. Investigators counted 1000 toys containing the drug but believed it had been hidden in more than 14,000. On Wednesday jurors were able to handle the small white plastic kangaroos that are alleged to have contained the drugs.
