Based on a tip-off, police conducted a drive in the Hili border area on Wednsday night and caught Ainul Islam, 35, along with 10 drug abusers, and recovered 60 bottles of phensedyl from the scene. Hakimpur police station Officer-in-Charge Anwar Hossain confirmed the matter, saying that the police had prior information about a man smuggling phensedyl from India. “We also raided other areas and held 10 other drug abusers in the drive,” said Anwar. The detainees, facing charges under the Narcotics Control Act, 2018, were later produced before a magistrate on Thursday afternoon, added the police officer.
