Man dies in local road traffic accidentGardaí are currently at the scene of a fatal road traffic collision involving three vehicles that occurred at approximately 6:30pm today (Sunday) at the Ashtree Junction in Ballinasloe. The driver of one of the vehicles, a man in his 60s, was taken to Portiuncula University Hospital where he has since passed away. All approach roads to Ashtree Junction are currently closed and will remain closed overnight. Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Ashtree Junction and Station Road areas of Ballinasloe between 6pm and 6:45pm are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
