A man has died following a police chase on State Highway 5 near Eskdale that ended with his vehicle crossing the centre line and hitting with a truck. The road between Napier and Taupo was closed while the crash was investigated but has since reopened. Julie Iles Police say the man crossed the centre line and hit an oncoming truck shortly before 10pm.
