East Rail Line services in Hong Kong were disrupted on Monday evening after a man was hit by a train at Tai Wai station and died. An MTR Corporation spokesman said security camera footage from the station appeared to indicate the man had jumped onto the tracks as a train approached. Services between Kowloon Tong and Sha Tin were suspended during an investigation, but the spokesman said they would return to normal around midnight. The service between Hung Hom and Kowloon Tong stations had been reduced to every other 10 minutes, as had the service between Sha Tin and Lo Wu. The MTR Corp was running a free shuttle bus service between Kowloon Tong and Sha Tin stations, and travellers had earlier been advised to use alternative means of transport.
