A man has died after crashing a car in North Canterbury. In a statement, police said the man died in Greta Valley, in the Hurunui District, this afternoon. Fairfax media are reporting a Fire Service spokesman as saying there was some indication the crash happened on a different day. The man crashed a four-wheel-drive vehicle into a tree on State Highway 1 (Greta Rd), south of the Hurunui River, Fairfax reported. Police said just one vehicle was involved in the accident, and circumstances of the crash were not yet known.
