A police car blocks the entrance to the Countdown supermarket carpark ar Queensgate shopping centre on Tuesday. Police have launched a homicide enquiry after a man died following a serious assault in a Lower Hutt car park. The 55-year-old died last night after the assault in a car park outside a supermarket on Knights Rd on Tuesday. Police were called to the scene outside Queensgate Shopping Centre about 11.30am, where they arrested a 23-year-old man. He is due to appear in the Hutt Valley District Court on Thursday on serious assault charges.
