A man is dead after an overnight shooting in Scarborough’s Morningside neighbourhood, Toronto police say. The shooting took place in the area of Ellesmere and Neilson roads and Military Trail around 2 a.m. Saturday. In a tweet, police said they responded to reports of shots being fired at or near a home when they found a man suffering “very serious” gunshot injuries. Police said the homicide squad is now investigating the shooting. The man is Toronto’s second homicide victim of 2020.
