Man dead after crash in Maryland police say was caused by deer

A man is dead after three vehicles collided Tuesday morning in a crash that police said was caused by a deer on Ritchie Marlboro Road in the Largo, Md., area. Prince George’s County police did not immediately release the man’s name, pending the notification of his family. He was pronounced dead on the scene and two other people were taken to hospitals with injuries not considered life-threatening. Police investigators confirmed the crash, which occurred just before 6 a.m., was caused by a deer jumping into the road or making contact with one of the vehicles, according to Corporal Harry Bond, a police spokesman. Officials found a dead deer near the scene of the accident, Bond said.
