A man is dead after being struck by the driver of a tractor trailer near Highway 401 and Allen Road early Monday morning, Ontario Provincial Police say. Taylor Konkle said the OPP received a call around 1 a.m. reporting a pedestrian on the highway. “Units started to respond to the call and then came across the body laying on the ground,” Konkle told the Star. The tractor trailer remained at the scene. OPP “still trying to figure out” what the pedestrian was doing on the highway.
