Police said Suthat Phakdee was hit while he was waiting in the middle of the road to cross to his house in Ban Khok Mai Daeng village in Tambon Si Mahapho of Si Mahapho district at 7.30pm. The bus driver, Prakorb Makmoong, said he was taking employees home from his company in the industrial estate when he suddenly saw the man standing in the middle of the dark road. He said he could not stop the bus in time and could not see the man from a distance in darkness. Suthat’s brother, Suthin Phakdee, 66, said his brother was apparently crossing the road to return home. Suthin added that Suthat was also forgetful sometimes.
