A person has been critically injured after being hit by a car in Timaru. A witness to a hit-and-run in Timaru on Thursday morning says she heard a heated argument ahead of the incident. A man is in serious condition in Timaru Hospital after being hit by a vehicle on Old North Rd, between Grants Rd and Andrew St, at about 4.40am. "The vehicle that hit the man, likely to have frontal damage, did not stop after the crash," Detective Senior Sergeant Richard Quested, of Timaru, said.
