A driver crashed into a pole on Withells Rd in Christchurch on Thursday. (File photo)Two people are injured, including one critically, after a car crashed into a pole in Avonhead, Christchurch. Emergency services were called to Withells Rd, between Yaldhurst Rd and Elsom Lane, about 11.40am on Thursday. St John spokesman Gerard Campbell said two people were taken to Christchurch Hospital – a man with critical injuries and a woman with moderate injuries. The pole was significantly damaged and the power authority had been called.
