Man charged with taking RM20,000 bribe - Nation


KUALA LUMPUR: A 54-year-old man was charged in a Sessions Court here with receiving a RM20,000 bribe on pretense that he could solve a corruption case. He allegedly committed the offence at 9.15pm at Dome Cafe, Vista Power, The Intermark, Jalan Tun Razak, here on May 30. The offence under Section 16(a)(B) of the MACC Act 2009 (Act 694) is punishable under Section 24 of the same Act. Youganesparan faces a maximum 20 years imprisonment and fine of not less than five times the value of bribe or RM10,000, whichever is higher. DPP Siti Syakimah Ibrahim did not offer bail as the offence was a non-bailable one.
