Man charged with murder after woman's remains found behind butcher shop in April

The man who was charged with indignity to a dead body after human remains were found behind a Toronto butcher shop in April has now been charged with second-degree murder, Toronto police say. On April 19, a package of human body parts was found behind Charlie's Meat and Seafood, near Broadview Avenue and Gerrard Street East. The remains were discovered around 11:30 a.m. by a store employee who was doing a routine check of the premises. At the time, police said the remains — a partial torso — were likely there for a "very, very short time." The Toronto man was charged with indignity to a dead body on April 30.
