Yarmey said he could get her “fake oxy,” the undercover officer said, referring to fentanyl pills, adding that he buys them “thousands at a time.”“He said he could get me as much as I wanted,” the officer said. The officer contacted Yarmey again on Jan. 21, 2016, arranging to buy three of the fentanyl pills for $300. Just as the first deal, Yarmey told the officer to meet him in a parking lot close to his apartment building. The undercover officer was instructed to try to purchase more drugs from Yarmey, so she sent him a text message again on Jan. 26, 2016. Yarmey was the first man charged with manslaughter in connection to a fentanyl overdose death by Edmonton police.
