A man has been charged after an incident which required police to cordon off eight blocks of Invercargill's CBD area last night. Detective Senior Sergeant Stu Harvey told the ODT the incident involved a man and a woman. "The female reportedly involved in the family harm incident walked out of the property around 9.30pm and is safe and uninjured." The incident was resolved about 12.30am today and a 27-year-old man was taken into custody. The man was charged with contravening protection order, speaking threateningly and assaulting a person in family relationship and was due to appear in court.
