Justice Joyce Abdulmaleek of the Federal High Court, Ibadan, has sentenced a 25-year-old drug trafficker, Fatai Lawal to three years in prison for unlawful dealing in Indian Hemp. Abdulmaleek said that she convicted and sentenced Lawal based on the overwhelming evidence against him. “In view of the overwhelming evidence before me, I am convinced that the convict is guilty as charged. “Therefore, to serve as a warning to other would–be offenders, Fatai is sentenced to three years in prison. “All the exhibits found in his possession are forfeited to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA),” the judge said.
