Man attacked, punched and stomped on, in InvercargillDAVID WALKER/STUFF Police are seeking witnesses after an alleged assault in Invercargill early Sunday. A 21-year-old man was knocked unconscious, punched and stomped on, during an altercation with a group of men in Invercargill. A statement from police said the man was "repeatedly punched and stomped about the head" by four men as he lay unconscious on the ground. It was not known whether he was known to the attackers or if alcohol was involved, she said.
